If you've ever had airseeder/drill primary line blocks or poor seed placement due to seed bounce then you're not alone!
Before the SeedVU, seed bounce could only be addressed by the addition of diffusers/seed brakes to each opener on the seeder, which often come off, brake or plug in the field. Replacing the seeders manifold caps, the SeedVU's unique design allows operators to vent out excess air from the seeders manifolds to ensure smoother delivery of seed to the furrow.

Finding the right balanceAirseeders, constantly struggle to get the balance right between too much air, and not enough. Large volumes of air are used to convey product through a seeders primary lines, without this large volume of air, product will block in the primary lines. Unfortunately the air required to move product through the primaries generally causes poor seed placement in the furrow, with seed often exiting a seeders opener at speeds in excess of 30kph! The SeedVU system can allow the operator to run fan speeds to a point where they know they wont block the primaries, and then vent out an adjustable amount of air from the manifold, greatly reducing seed exit speeds from the opener improving the quality of seed placement.

Back pressure issues?
|
If you keep blocking primary lines, but have your air seeders fan running full speed, then chances are you are experiencing a phenomenon know as 'back pressure'. This problem in simple terms occurs when you are trying to push a certain volume of air through a pipe that requires more pressure than your air seeders fan can deliver, effectively stopping air flow and everything suspended in it, ie seed and fertilizer.
The SeedVU unit is most effective at addressing the issue, as it provides a 'bleed off' point for more air to escape promoting greater air flow to the seeders manifolds. Great for row crop applications where large air flow is needed, but fewer outlets are provided for air to escape due to wider row spacings. |
